  1. Install the MS Word Plugin (in Mendeley Desktop) by choosing Tools and then Install MS Word Plugin. Then click Okay.
  2. Open up Microsoft Word. Under the References tab there should now be a some Mendeley functions such as Insert Citation, Insert Bibliography, and Open Mendeley.
  3. In the drop-down menu next to Style, choose the appropriate citation style.
  4. To add an in-text citation, put your cursor in the Word document where you'd like your citation to appear and click on Insert Citation.

OR ... In Mendeley Online, click on the desired reference and click on Send Citation to Word Processor in the menu bar at the top of the page.
