It is designed to be useful in a number of different recording situations, including for podcast or voiceovers, musical instruments, stereo recording, and omnidirectional recording, and even a bi-directional mode for 2 person interviews.

Note: You will need recording software to use with the Yeti USB microphone. Recording software will allow you to record, edit, and export the audio from the microphone into a finished product, whether that is a podcast, voiceover, or song.

• Cakewalk by BandLab - Free Digital Audio Workstation primarily intended for music but suitable for voice recordings as well. 

• GarageBand - Free for Mac users.
• Reaper - Reaper is a fully functioning Digital Audio Workstation. Download the 60-day evaluation trial for free. Preferable to Audacity for multitrack musical or audio recordings. Includes audio and MIDI tracks, as well as digital instruments and effects, and support for VST and AU plugins.
