National Library Week is April 3rd - 9th
Connect With Your Library!

April 3-9, 2022 is National Library Week, a time to highlight the essential role libraries, librarians and library workers play in transforming lives and strengthening communities. The theme for this year’s National Library Week is “Connect with Your Library,” which promotes the idea that libraries are places to get connected to technology and other resources. Libraries offer opportunities to connect with media, programs, ideas and classes, in addition to books. Most importantly, libraries also connect the campus community to each other.

TECHNOLOGY PETTING ZOO

Monday, April 4, 2022
11 am to 1 pm

As you may have heard, the library is More Than Books!  Are you interested in seeing what technology can be borrowed from the library?  Come to the Technology Petting Zoo!

The Library's Digital Design Studio will be showcasing some of the multimedia equipment available at the Schwartz Library. The Digital Design Studio is located on the 3rd floor of the library and offers materials for check out such as cameras, audio recorders, green screens and photo backgrounds, a Cricut maker, an Arduino kit, multimedia software, and more.

Plan to stop in on Monday!  We'll have cookies, free giveaways, so you can check out the gadgets and goodies, visit our interactive Selfie Station, and set up where students will have the opportunity to enter a raffle for a prize.

In addition, there will be free giveaways and opportunities to enter to win gift cards.

COMICS & GRAPHIC NOVELS COLLECTION

We are highlighting our new Comics and Graphic Novels collection with a display on the first floor. The display will include information about the creation of the new collection and our new lounge area near the fourth-floor atrium, as well as a selection of graphic novels. Stop in and browse!

OHIOLINK LUMINARIES PROGRAM:

This display highlights the Michael Schwartz Library’s involvement with the OhioLINK Luminaries residency program. This initiative gives an undergraduate student at CSU the opportunity to receive mentorship and professional experience working in a paid position at the library.

The Luminaries residency takes place over Fall and Spring semesters. This spring semester, the library will put out a call for our next OhioLINK Luminaries student. Students of all backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
