SWK 201 Contemporary Social Welfare

1. Book

Search Discovery @ CSU to find a book on your topic. 
  • Enter just a few keywords that describe your topic and change "Everything @ CSU" to "CSU Books & Media." 
  • Tweak your results using the filters on the left - under "Resource Type," select "Books." 
    • E-books will show "Available Online." Follow the link to access the full text.
    • Print books will display a call number and location in the library. 

2. Academic Peer-Reviewed Journal Article

Search tips:

  • start with one or two keywords
  • add additional keywords to refine/focus your search
  • apply filters to narrow results:
    • EBSCO Full Text
    • Peer Reviewed
    • Language - English
  • click the title of the item to use database citation generator (you may need to make corrections!)

Use Google to find historical/background information about social services and government agencies or entities:

  • Add site:.gov to your keyword search to find federal and state websites
  • Add site:ohio.gov to your keyword search to focus on Ohio
