Generative AI Tools and Information Literacy: A Guide for Faculty

Faculty AI Literacy Training

CSU Faculty AI Literacy Certificate

Whether the thought of Generative AI makes you stressed, excited, worried, or a combination of these, it’s important for faculty to have a baseline understanding of what Generative AI is and to be able to develop informed AI guidelines for the classroom.

The Office of Instructional Excellence, in partnership with the Michael Schwartz Library, has developed a short, asynchronous certificate course for faculty to help bridge this gap. Participants will gain skills and knowledge about generative AI that will help them make more informed decisions about classroom AI policy, as well as their use of generative AI for teaching, research, and productivity. We plan to continue to improve the content of this certificate course, and we encourage your participation and feedback.

The course is completely asynchronous and can be completed at the faculty member’s own pace. Once all of the course requirements are met, participants will receive a certificate of completion. Please reach out if you have questions about the course or would like to give feedback!
