Business Case Studies for Teaching: Home

Business Case Studies

There are several options available when trying to locate free case studies.

Business Source Complete

The following three databases provide access to a large number of case studies produced by various publishers. The links below will use the "case study" limiter for a predefined search. You can then narrow your search based by keyword. Not all case studies are written as teaching cases, but many of these appear to be well written, well researched and could be used in the classroom nonetheless.

Uncheck the full text option in Business Source Complete to view abstracts of case studies available for purchase.

To locate case studies, simply select "Case Study" as the publication or document type in the Advanced Search.

Select EBSCO Full Text to make sure only available case studies show up.

Alternatively, you do a normal search and add "case study" to a regular search. You might filter to periodicals or trade publications to remove scholarly case study articles.

Library catalog

Many of our books include case studies or case examples as well. Again, not all case studies included will be intended for teaching.

In the SCHOLAR online catalog, search for the topic of your choice as a keyword search. To narrow down to case studies, add additional terms after an AND operator: business case*, case study, etc.

There will be some unrelated titles that come up in your search. To check an individual title, review the Full Record to see the table of contents or summary.

Free Case Collections

There are many free case study collections available on the internet.
