Scholar Online Catalog

Searching Scholar Catalog

SCHOLAR is the Michael Schwartz Library's online catalog.

A library catalog is a descriptive list of items that are owned by a particular library. For many years library catalogs were maintained on small cards and were called "card catalogs." Today, library catalogs are electronic information databases accessed by computer and called "online catalogs."

SCHOLAR is accessible from every Library web page. Just look for the label "Catalog."

Use SCHOLAR to search for:

  • Books
  • E-books
  • Videos
  • Music and audio recordings
  • And more!

Search for items by:

  • Title
  • Author
  • Keyword
  • Subject

OhioLINK Central Catalog

The OhioLINK Central Catalog allows you to find and borrow books, video and audio recordings from 88 Ohio colleges and universities. 

  1. Search Scholar Online Catalog to see if the Schwartz Library has the item.
  2. If the search results indicate that the Schwartz Library does not have the item you need, or that the item is unavailable, click the green button labeled "OhioLINK" to check statewide holdings and availability.
  3. Once you locate an item you want, you may request it;  requested items will arrive at the designated pick up location in 3 to 5 business days.

How do I request an item from OhioLINK?

  1. Look for the green button labeled "Request" and then select it.
  2. Select your school (Cleveland State) from the drop down menu.
  3. Fill in the boxes with the requested information
  4. Select a pick up institution and pick up location.
  5. Select the "Submit" button.
  6. You will get a confirmation screen.
