While journal articles are going to be the core of your research for your ANT 311 term project, books can prove valuable as supplemental resources depending on your topic. Below is information on how to use the Michael Schwartz Library's Scholar Catalog to locate books and journals.
Start by navigating to the library homepage and entering your keywords in the big search box located in the middle of the page.

Before exploring your search results, you might want to sign into your account to get complete results and request items not in our collection. Your log-in information is your CampusNet login.

Now it's time to take a look at your search results. Since we're looking for books, use the Resource Type limiter on the left to select Books.

When you find a book you're interested in, there are lots of options to engage with the content. If the item is an ebook, click Available Online to view the full text. You can also click the link icon to copy a permalink to this resource, the mail icon to email the item information to yourself or someone else, or the pin icon to add the book to your favorites collection (this option is only available if you have signed in).

If the item is a print book, you'll see information for how to find the book on the shelf. Take note of the library (the Michael Schwartz Library or the Law Library), floor, and call number for the book so you can track it down.

If you need any help finding a book on the shelf using the call number, don't hesitate to ask for help.
Sometimes the materials available here at CSU will not be sufficient for your research inquiry -- but that's okay! CSU is fortunate to belong to a statewide consortium called OhioLINK. OhioLINK allows us to borrow and lend materials across university and college libraries throughout the state. While materials don't arrive instantaneously (the wait is usually 2-5 business days), with advance planning, OhioLINK gives you access to an enormous collection of requestable content!
To extend your search beyond CSU materials, find the text that says Click here to search beyond CSU.

Books that need to be requested from elsewhere will have an option that says Get it for me from other libraries.

After clicking this link, scroll down to see whether a physical copy is available and what the delivery and loan periods are. Click GET IT if you would like to request the item.

A short form will appear. Fill out this form and click SEND to submit your request. Don't forget to change the pickup location if you would prefer to pick up in the Michael Schwartz Library (the main library)!

You'll receive an email to your CSU email address when the item is ready to be picked up. Items are usually ready within 2-5 business days. Please don't hesitate to reach out to the library if you have questions!
