We’re excited to introduce Scott Vine, the new Director of the Michael Schwartz Library, who officially joined Cleveland State University on July 7, 2025!
Scott brings a fresh perspective and deep passion for academic libraries, and he's already impressed by the people and resources that make our library exceptional. When asked what resource every member of the CSU community should know about, Scott didn’t hesitate:
“The first resource that comes to mind is the group of people working here—there are library employees assisting students directly, teaching classes, offering research assistance, technology help, and more. They are all experts in various ways, and are invaluable to our campus and the student experience.”
In addition to our talented staff, Scott highlights the breadth and depth of our collections:
“Our collections are also amazing—both print and online, articles and books and course materials and streaming films and special collections and historical archives… there’s really something for everyone!”
As Director, Scott sees his role as actively helping library employees and our organization move forward as we continue to provide needed content, resources, spaces and services to students, staff and faculty.
A Few Fun Facts About Scott:
- Favorite Spot on/near Campus: Cafe Ah-Roma and the cathedral next to it are both great spaces in their own way.
- Favorite Book: Berlin Noir, a three book series by Phillip Kerr (and about to be an AppleTV series)
