Welcome to the research guide for COM231. This guide contains resources you can utilize to help you complete your research assignment for class. The research for this class will take time and involves drawing conclusions from the many sources you will find.
To access research databases from off-campus, you will have to authenticate first -- select Cleveland State University, and then enter your name, CSU ID, and Library PIN. If you don't have a Library PIN yet, then you can create one on the My Account page.
This guide is broken into sections. Use the tabs at the top, or these links to navigate to the different sections of the guide.
Periodicals will contain discussion of current programs and trends, in the form of reviews, analysis of programming, and how programs are faring. This will make up some of your "content analysis" research.
Books will provide commentary looking back on TV genres, programs, and trends. Provided are several examples of books you can use.
