ASC 101: Introduction to University Life: Locate a database by subject

What is a database?

Library databases provide access to scholarly research articles, newspapers, magazines, statistics, reports, and many other kinds of content. These databases are often specialized by subject and content type. The library provides multiple ways to locate an appropriate database to start doing research for your class assignments.

Databases by subject

From the home page, you can navigate to our list of research databases. By default it will show you the databases in alphabetical order.

Resarch Databases A-Z

Select the "All Subjects" drop-down, and choose your subject.

Select the "Subject" pull-down

Research Guides

You can also look at hand-curated guides created by your Personal Librarians that will point you to the most appropriate databases and other resources for a subject, major, or even class. On the homepage, select "Research Guides."

From the list, find a guide for your major, subject, or class. The research guides will provide you with helpful navigation tabs so you can find what you are looking for.
