Keeping Patrons Safe with Contactless Pickup

posted by Unknown User on 2021-02-18T17:08:37-05:00 | 0 Comments

The library is once again offering a contactless pickup option for library materials throughout the Spring 2021 semester.  In an effort to keep patrons safe and prevent virus spread, students and faculty are able to collect their requested items from the lobby of Rhodes Tower.

While contactless pickup was mandatory after the campus shut down in November, patrons now have the choice to pick up materials at the User Services desk or through the contactless method.  This procedure was implemented in an effort to meet the safety needs of library patrons throughout the pandemic.  Allowing research materials to remain available in a safe way is essential for student success at a research university.

Students and faculty can request this service by calling User Services desk at (216) 687-2479 between 8:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday through Friday, or by emailing library.userservices@csuohio.edu.  Patrons will receive an email when their order is ready and have ten business days to collect their requested items.  Materials for contactless pickup will be placed on a shelf in the front lobby of Rhodes Tower, sorted alphabetically and labeled with the patron's name.

Throughout last semester and winter break, more than 250 patrons utilized this option, with over 500 library materials requested.  Many students and faculty have already taken advantage of the contactless pick-up option this semester, demonstrating the effectiveness of this service.
